About this role
Sparta Networking is supporting a leading construction company in hiring an experienced Survey Technician to assist with land surveying operations in a fast-paced environment. This is a hands-on role focused on supporting field data collection, equipment operation, and accurate project layout.
What you will do
- Assist the Survey Crew Chief with daily field survey operations
- Set up and operate survey equipment including GPS, total stations, and data collectors
- Collect and record accurate field data for construction layout, boundary, and topographic surveys
- Assist with staking, measurements, and site layout
- Maintain and safely transport survey equipment
- Communicate effectively with crew members and project teams
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards
What you need
- Familiarity with survey equipment such as GPS and total stations
- Ability to read basic plans and follow directions from crew leadership
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime when needed
- Physically demanding role, including walking long distances, lifting up to 60 lbs, and working on uneven terrain
