Sparta Networking is hiring an experienced Roller Operator to support asphalt paving and sitework operations for a leading construction company in Columbia, SC. This hands-on role focuses on achieving proper compaction, maintaining surface quality, and supporting crew productivity in a fast-paced environment.
What you will do
- Operate rollers to compact asphalt, soil, and other materials to required specifications
- Monitor compaction levels and adjust rolling patterns as needed
- Work closely with paving and grading crews to maintain proper timing and workflow
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance
- Identify and report mechanical or safety issues
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with OSHA and safety standards
What you need
- Experience operating rollers in asphalt paving or sitework environments
- Understanding of compaction techniques and surface quality standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
- Physically capable of lifting up to 60 lbs
- Willingness to use PPE at all times
Nice to have
- Experience in roadwork, paving, or heavy civil construction
