About this role
Sparta Networking is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain construction equipment such as excavators, loaders, and dozers. This hands-on role focuses on minimizing downtime and ensuring safe equipment operation in a fast-paced construction environment.
What you will do
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, dozers, and other machinery
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment reliability
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
- Coordinate with operators and supervisors to address equipment concerns
- Maintain accurate service records and complete repair documentation
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with OSHA and safety standards
What you need
- Experience as a heavy equipment or diesel mechanic
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, engines, and electrical systems
- Ability to diagnose and repair equipment efficiently
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime when needed
- Physically capable of lifting up to 60 lbs
- Willingness to work in outdoor conditions with exposure to noise, dirt, and heavy equipment
