About this role
Reactor Systems Engineer role with an innovative advanced energy organization developing next-generation nuclear power systems. This position requires coordinating across multiple engineering disciplines to design, integrate, and validate complex reactor systems in San Francisco, CA.
What you will do
- Develop and maintain reactor system architecture and technical specifications
- Coordinate integration of mechanical, thermal, electrical, and nuclear subsystems
- Support reactor design analysis, modeling, and performance evaluation
- Participate in system testing, validation, and operational readiness activities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve design challenges
- Support documentation for safety analysis and regulatory review processes
- Assist with troubleshooting and root-cause analysis during system development and testing
What you need
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Experience working with complex engineering systems or large-scale energy infrastructure
- Strong systems engineering mindset with ability to understand cross-disciplinary interactions
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Nice to have
- Experience in nuclear energy, advanced reactors, aerospace, or defense systems
- Familiarity with reactor safety analysis or regulatory frameworks
- Experience with system modeling, simulation, or testing environments
- Background in highly regulated or safety-critical industries
